A death in the family

by martyfogs on January 1, 2010

My brother in law, Brian, died this week.

This post shares some thoughts I’m thinking.

1.  Life is short.

2. Life is a gift – it’s a gift to us while we live it.  It’s a gift left for others once we leave.

3. Its Christmas morning every moment – unpack the gifts on your lap and put them into use! They’re perfect for you.

4.  We are much more than a mass of organic molecules in a bag of skin.  We are the spirit that illuminates this organism.  We are all one universal spirit, separated only by perspective of our individual experiences.

5.  In fact we are the 5 blind guys and the elephant.  we each think we have it right from our limited perspective – but in fact – none of us have it right alone.

6.  The only way forward is in gratitude and enthusiasm for – and acceptance of – the present moment.  this is the most powerful spot we’ll ever be in.

“Namaste” means “I worship the spirit residing in you.”  It is the oldest known greeting/goodbye on earth, and probably the most powerful.

Life is about aligning with this power.

Namaste.
